建築設計涉及本質和工具。
本論文由校園入口的本質為著眼點,觀察到大學與都市無法諧和地銜接:看不到大學之門的存在。以台南為例,位居後火車站的成大校園沒有辦法形塑有意義的入口意象。本論文第一個論題是探討門的本質,從而引入「場域」或「銜域」的概念;其次,本論文從學園的本質探討學校最初的原型,其中涉及古典希臘學校的考據與研究;第三,本論文受筆觸的啟發,由杜勒畫作中筆觸的表現力作為本設計的操作工具。
本論文分為三個部分:
壹、入口意象
從門之形式表現、字源學去詮意門的內涵,得到「門不是門,門是空間」的啟示。指認既成環境中以「空間」為「門」的建築現象,而逐步建立「銜域」的概念。最後以銜域作為形塑入口意象的重要基石。
貳、校園
引古為鑑,由古典希臘的校園本質比對空間原型及其演變。繼以古典時期雅典哲學學校遺址作為研究對象,探究其空間興味,作為形塑校園入口意象的參考。
参、手法及設計
內容涉及將筆觸轉化為一種可能的工具。透過觀察杜勒的筆觸,抽離出筆觸形式當中的手法。將筆觸形式類比於校園入口或銜域,提出以筆觸手法作為一種操作工具。本設計因應台南市鐵路地下化、成大巨蛋體育場計畫,藉由筆觸手法整合入口意象與校園的本質概念,引納來自大學與都市的人潮活動,以重塑一個具有意義的都市中大學校園入口意象。
Architectural design involves both its essence and tools. This thesis, focusing on the essence of campus entrance, observes the incoherent linkage between university and city which causes people ignorant of where the university entrance is. Taking Tainan as an example, the NCKU campus, located nearby the Tainan Train Station, could not model itself a meaningful entrance image. In the thesis, there are three main issues. First, the issue refers to the intrinsic quality of the entrance, proposing the concept of ‘thea’ or ‘connective space’ subsequently. Second, the issue confers on the academic prototype from the essence of an academy, relating to the studies on ancient Greek schools. Thirdly, inspired by drawing strokes, this paper takes the manifestation of Dürer’s strokes as the design tool.
This thesis includes three parts as follows:
1. Entrance Image
First, this studies, tracing the essential meaning via the morphology and etymology, get an idea of ’entrance is not a mark but a concept of space.’ Not only these studies distinguish the space
as an entrance from the built environment, set up the concept of ‘connective space,’ but also regard the ‘connective space’ as the base of modeling the entrance image.
2. Campus
This author compares the academic prototype and its variations of Classic Greece campus, takes a classical philosophy school as an object and takes the spatial interests as the reference of shaping the
campus entrance image.
3. Strokes and Design
The contents relate to transforming the drawing strokes into a potential tool. This paper utilizes the strokes as a design tool, from the forms of Durer's drawing strokes, abstracts the order, further, forms the ’campus entrance/connective space.’ Corresponding to the future Tainan Underground Railroad and NCKU Domed Stadium, this thesis integrates the essence of entrance image and campus with the order of strokes and accommodates the activities from city and campus so as to reform a meaningful entity of an urban university.
