隨著資訊科技的發達以及網路頻寬的提升,再加上現今電腦硬體設備的普及化,視訊會議系統已成為目前網路上的一個重要應用。超級視訊格網(Access Grid,AG)是因應資訊交流所設計出來的新一代免費之網路溝通平台,AG內部整合了視訊、語音及不同資料的應用(如投影片分享、資料分享等),且它是一套利用格網(Grid)技術所開發的多人視訊平台。
傳統上,不論是遠距教學或是多人會議討論,在會議中通常都需要主持人來控制整個會議的流暢度及發言秩序。然而,目前在AG上卻缺少了一套有效的會議管控機制。因此,本論文透過AG共享應用程式服務(Shared Application )及節點服務(Node Service)來對AG進行擴充,以實現在AG系統上具有主持人會議控管服務之機制,使利用AG系統來做視訊會議時能由具有主持權限之人來掌控會議進行的秩序;所建構之主持人會議控管模組,除了使用在一般的多人視訊會議上,本文也提供一個將其應用在分散式科學視覺化分享之例子。
Video conference systems have become a very important application on the internet at the present day. The Access Grid developed by National Argon Laboratory is an open source system which integrated with video, audio, and many sharing applications such as shared power points, browsers, and becomes a popular internet communication platform. Access Grid can provide better quality both in video and audio than that of conventional video conference systems. On the other hand, Access Grid is a group-to-group video conference system which was built using Grid technology. Unfortunately, there is no mechanism which can control the progress of the conference. To improve this disadvantage, a conference control module was designed and some shared applications and node services are added into the Access Grid to extend its functionalities. A typical application for collaborative scientific visualization conference by using the designed conference control module to discuss the interested subject on the internet was shown.
