過去二十年來，台灣經濟快速地成長，成功地從勞力密集的生產業轉型為高科技之製造業。其中半導體、電子及光電等高科技產業在政府的政策配合及民間的努力之下，已成為世界前五名的生產地。雖然這些科技產業在我國有雄厚的製造實力，但展望未來，生物科技產業將是繼電子產業後，我國最具發展潛力的新興產業，其低污染、天然資源需求少、偏重技術密集的特性十分適合我國的環境。有鑑於此，我國政府遵循過去發展新竹科學園區的成功經驗，規劃許多生技園區容納新成立的生技公司進駐；可以預期，隨著產業產值的成長及新成立的生技公司數目增加，這些生技園區對標準廠房的需求將與日俱增。然生技產業在本質上與其他高科技產業仍有不同，對於一般標準廠房內的空間大小、設備是否合乎生技產業的使用、生技標準廠房是否有獨立設置之必要性，目前國內並無相關的論述，因此希望藉著本研究對生物科技產業所需的廠房特性，將所蒐集的資料建立假設，並以問卷調查的方式來進行驗證，作為結論的依據。

本研究以問卷調查為主要研究方法，調查對象為國內的生技公司，調查目前的生技廠商使用標準廠房及自建廠房的概況，再加以分析比較；其問卷內容主要分為廠商基本資料、需求條件、租金標準與租賃年限、使用概況及需求程度等大項，藉由統計分析的結果，推估未來生技標準廠房的需求趨勢及開發條件，以供開發者從事生技標準廠房開發時之參考。

Because the economy in Taiwan has grown up rapidly during the past twenty years, the industry was transformed successfully from the labor tight squeeze property into the manufacturing of high-tech. Among these high-tech industries, the semiconductor, electron and photodiode industries had become the top five places of production in the world under the cooperation of the government’s policies and the effort of the folk. The biotech industry, extremely suitable to domestic conditions, which is low polluted, less demand of natural resource and stressed on the technique tight squeeze will be the most potential one after the electronic industry in the future, although these high-tech industries have an abundant strength on manufacturing in our country. In consideration of the situation, the government followed the successful experience of Hsin-Chu Science Park, and drew up many biotech science parks to contain new biotech companies for entering and garrison. We may anticipate that the requirement of standard factories in these biotech science parks will be increased steadily with the development of output value of industry and the increasing number of new biotech companies. But the biotech industry is different from the other high-tech industries on the essence. There are short of relevant document in domestic topics for discussing the dimensions of the space in general standard factories, the suitable facilities corresponding to the need of the biotech industry, and the necessity of separateness to set up biotech standard factories. The objective of this study is to investigate the characteristics of biotech factories by using questionnaire method, and the result will be regarded as the basis of conclusion.
The main investigating manner of this study is questionnaire method. The sample projects collected by questionnaire are the general situation of domestic biotech factory owners, who rent standard factories or use factories that constructed by themselves. The characteristics listed in the questionnaire are the essential background of factory owners, conditions of requirements, criterion of rental and the fixed number of years for rent, the general situation of using, and the degree of requirements etc. The sample data are statistically analyzed to provide a statement of reference for the operators who intend to exploit biotech standard factories.
