Under the condition of global warming and climate change nowadays, carbon reduction issues have become the focus of world attention. During companies’ business activities, they often produce carbon emissions which impact climate changing a lot. In recent years, countries around the world enhance the concept of environmental awareness, and even develop environmental regulation to be regulated so that enterprises must have to think how to reduce pollutions during the business processes. Therefore, national organizations conduct carbon inventory. They using carbon dioxide (CO2) to calculate carbon emissions, so that to view their contribution to the environment to pursue sustainable.
Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), refers to the establishment in the information technology, based on a systematic management thinking, for business decision-makers and staff to run the means to provide decision management platform. Enterprise Resource Planning is an important tool for the implementation of business process reengineering, is a part of a large manufacturing company used resource management systems. In fortune 500 companies, 80% of companies are using ERP software as a tool for their daily workflow and management decision-making, and its importance is evident.
Research to date, the green information system (Green IS) has been surrounded by between concepts and empirical research, and the community has been reluctant to use design science research methods to the development of information systems. To address this gap, this study will use design science research (DSR) theory to develop a green conceptual system, so that it can accurately control the carbon emissions generated in the process.
