為推動歷史記憶與文化底蘊之延續發展，台南市政府將進行赤崁文化園區改造工程，其中歷史巷弄是具保存意義且連續的空間形式，如何保留當地居民的生活內涵與風貌，是歷史保存中重要的議題。回顧國內歷史街道的相關研究與保存計畫，大多著重於老街、建築形式與土地使用等層面研究與保存，鮮少以居民的角度探討整體視覺景觀。因此本研究以視覺景觀偏好的角度切入，根據曹正（2007）對視覺景觀的定義與分類，並以赤崁文化園區周邊之歷史巷弄作為研究範圍，結合Daniel and Vining（1983）大眾景觀偏好評估模式與積田洋（2002）街道構成分析，歸納構景類型與景觀構成元素，以了解居民偏好的歷史巷弄構成，檢討目前歷史巷弄之景觀管制，提出歷史巷弄空間景觀保存與改善的建議。
研究結果發現，受偏好之類型為遠景直線型，而影響偏好的構成元素為頂面天空、垂直面歷史元素與垂直面附加元素，並且其皆與語意差異形容詞組具有顯著的相關性。因此根據研究結果，對於未來在歷史巷弄空間之景觀管制與保存上，遠景直線型、峽谷漸轉型與岔路型分別可藉景觀尺度、連續與歷史性改善整體視覺景觀；此外，透過頂面天空元素改善整體視覺景觀的和諧感受，垂直面歷史元素的保存維持當地獨特歷史氛圍，垂直面附加元素的減少改善巷弄空間尺度之封閉感。

To promote the historical memory and cultural connotation of sustainable development, Tainan municipal government will carry out the maintenance and renovation project of Chih Kan Cultural Park. Reviewing the literature and preservation projects of historical streets mainly discuss ancient architectural forms, building facade, land use, open place management, etc. It causes the measure of the historical preservation lacks for pondering cultural connotation of local resident lifestyle and three-dimensional visual landscape.
Therefore, we need to understand residents’ thought on the historical alley of Tainan city before the project is executed. Choose the historical alleys around Chih Kan Cultural Park, classify visual landscape types and elements of the alleys and interview with the questionnaire of public preference paradigm of discussing the various types of alley visual landscape.
The results show that Straight Road of Vistas is the most preferred visual landscape types. In addition, the elements of the effect of preference are the over-hand of sky element, the verticals of historical and incident elements, which highly correlate with adjectives of Semantic Differential. Finally, Reviewing the current historical alley preservation or landscape control and combining the results of research, and propose the principle of improvement for the landscape control standard.
