    • 現在在台灣使用的參與方式主要集中在參與的口頭交流，這可能導致專業人士和非專業人士，政府和公民之間的脫節，原因是前者傾向於以更視覺為主的方式思考。隨著公民意識的提高，類似的溝通衝突也可以在公共政策制定與相關計畫的領域看到。
    為了研究視覺輔助如何增強公眾參與及其效果，本研究使用行動研究作為實驗研究設計，透過分析經常用於營銷和廣告研究的視覺輔助方法，將其使用於公共參與領域之全新應用。
    本研究採用不同的研究方法，包括訪談、案例研究、調整視覺輔助方法與實際應用測試。實際應用測試旨在觀察使用視覺輔助工具如何連結專業和非專業人員，以便使不同的利害關係人在公眾參與的過程中能夠更好地進行溝通，而實際應用的基地選在台南西市場與西門商場，因西市場為市定古蹟，且在執行修復計畫的過程中有溝通的爭議產生，因此可以作為檢視方法應用性的場域。

    The participation methods being used in Taiwan now are mainly focusing on verbal communication for participation, which may cause the disconnection between professionals and non-professionals, or governments and citizens, due to the reason that the former ones tend to think in a more visual way. As the raising of consciousness of citizenship, the conflicts can also be seen in the public policy making field.
    To study on how the visual aid can enhance the public participation and the effects of it, this research use an action plan process as an experimental research design to study the brand new application of the new method of visual aids that often used in marketing and advertisement fields but never in public participation study.
    This research uses different research methods, including interviews, case study, method modification and on-site implementation. The on-site implementation is used to discover the enhancement of using visual aids to bridge professionals and non-professional for better communication in public participation. The on-site implementation is used in the West Market, which is the one of the municipal heritages in Tainan.
