本論文將結合滾子鏈與靜音鏈的特性並設計出新型自行車鏈條。鏈條是常用的撓性傳動元件之ㄧ,而滾子鏈與靜音鏈是工業界在動力傳輸方面應用廣泛的兩種鏈條。滾子鏈適合在低速高扭力的情況下使用,靜音鏈則適合使用在高速且高負荷的需求。由於自行車屬於低速傳動,一般靜音鏈並不適用,所以本論文提出了一種新型齒形鏈條─複合齒形鏈。
本論文設計構想以滾子鏈為結構基礎,加上靜音鏈的齒形概念。複合齒形鏈有兩種不同嚙合形式,分別為最多單一鏈目和最多雙鏈目同時與鏈輪齒進行嚙合的狀態。本論文根據嚙合曲面理論進行複合齒形鏈條的運動分析,主要是採用齒面接觸分析方法搭配幾何拘束條件和三力平衡條件式。
齒面接觸分析的結果顯示,最多單一鏈目嚙合複合齒形鏈的運動過程經過了六個時期,分別為緊邊期、嚙合期、暫時固定期、緊邊期、懸浮期及固定期。最多雙鏈目嚙合複合齒形鏈的運動過程經過七個時期,分別為緊邊期、嚙合期、暫時固定期、嚙合期、暫時固定期、懸浮期以及固定期。
本論文也探討複合齒形鏈齒形羅拉的齒形與嚙合形式的關係,並比較複合齒形鏈兩種嚙合形式的弦線作用,比較之後發現最多雙鏈目嚙合的複合齒形鏈弦線作用較小。最後本論文將最多單一鏈目嚙合的複合齒形鏈實際應用於自行車傳動系統上,經過實際運轉測試,確定最多單一鏈目嚙合複合齒形鏈可在自行車系統上使用。
This thesis investigates a new type of bicycle transmission chains—the compound tooth-shaped chains. Chains and belts are popular flexible transmission components in use. There are two types of chains used in power transmission applications: roller chains and silent chains. Roller chains are suitable for low-speed applications, while silent chains can be used to meet high-speed and high-load requirements. Roller chains are commonly used in bicycle transmissions; however, in order to pursue quieter transmissions, this thesis proposes a new type of chains—the compound tooth-shaped chains for used in bicycles.
Two kinds of the compound tooth-shaped chains are investigated in this thesis: chains with at most one link in contact and chains with at most two links in contact. The motion analysis of compound tooth-shaped chains is conducted by employing conjugate theory. The tooth contact analysis of compound tooth-shaped chains is analyzed by incorporating geometric and force constraints.
Results of the tooth contact analysis show that compound tooth-shaped chains with at most one link in contact undergo the following six stages: tight-span, conjugate contact, stationary, tight-span, suspended, and fixed stages. Compound tooth-shaped chains with at most two links in contact, on the other hand, undergo the following seven stages: tight-span, conjugate contact, stationary, conjugate-contact, stationary, suspended, and fixed stages.
Furthermore, the relationship between the compound tooth-shaped chains and their contact patterns is also studied. In addition, a comparative investigation between the chordal actions of the two kinds of compound tooth-shaped chains is also conducted. Finally, this thesis gives a test report of a bicycle transmission employing the compound tooth-shaped chains with at most one link in contact. Satisfactory results have been obtained in the preliminary testing.
