目前電子製造業正面臨新世代的變異，以純代工為主的台灣電子業廠商面臨低毛利及市場快速變化的挑戰，從彼此間單一廠商的競爭已經轉化成供應鏈的整體作戰，在電子製造業中，效率及管理成本的精益求精是所有供應鏈必須面臨的課題。
供應商庫存管理模式(Vendor-Managed Inventory Model)已經被大量採用於供應鏈管理的前提之下，尤其在電子製造業中，供應鏈中的零組件供應商大多已經導入此種供應模式來降低製造商的成本及庫存，而相對也是成為上游廠商的成本負擔及壓力。身為供應鏈協作中的一員，為了增加自身的競爭力及參與供應鏈整體合作的運作，即使要投入更多資源及成本的前提下，還是願意加入供應商庫存管理模式運作。
本研究要透過訪談電子製造業中兩階層供應鏈的高階主管，研究上下游的高階主管對運作"供應商管理庫存(VMI)"模式及公司的績效的關聯性，及上下游雙方對此一合作模式的看法與異同。再透過對作業從業人員(採購及供應商運作人員含業務代表及業務助理)的問卷調查，確認上下游作業從業人員對於"供應商管理庫存(VMI)"模式運作的績效評估，能夠符合雙方的期待及提升公司的績效。

The research of ＂A Study of Company Performance with Vendor-Managed Inventory＂was focus on two echelon supply chain in Electronics manufacturing industry，confirm the objectives of VMI operation as（1）Using the data collect form the two echelon supply chain who are working VMI operations to identify their similarities and differences。（2）Study the two echelon supply chain in electronics manufacturing about the ＂Vendor Managed Inventory＂ operation to verify the merits of their cooperation。（3）Verify and confirm in the ＂Vendor Managed Inventory＂ mode of operation, the two echelon supply chain in electronics manufacturing can enhance corporate performance。Using the interview with senior manager and the survey data with staff to confirm those objectives，collect information verify the major result to enhance company performance，the VRIO method confirmed VMI operation can enables supplier have irreplaceable competitive advantage on electronic supply chain。The research show the weakness of supplier in VMI program，also highlight the benefit for two echelon suppler chain in VMI operation。Make sure The VMI operation in electronic manufactory was successful and useful。
