The research applied the principles of visual design to improve teaching slides and explored the mode of embedding advertising in teaching slides; (1) Improve the visual design of teaching slides to enhance teachers' teaching quality and students' learning effectiveness. According to the literature, this research organized 12 visual design principles. Without changing the content of the teaching materials, applying the principles to the improved teaching slides would help students learn more easily, and also help establish effective communication between teachers and students. (2) Explore the form of embedding advertising in teaching slides. This research explored the impact of advertising on teaching slides. With the consent of the teachers, appropriate advertisement contents will be cleverly integrated into the course materials. Finally, this research will propose an advertising form that has good visual design and does not interfere with teaching. (3) Propose examples of campus innovation. This research proposed the idea of the design department and different departments to cooperate to improve the teaching slides. By embedding advertising in teaching slides, it provides industry-university cooperation opportunities.
The process of this research included organizing the visual design principles and selecting advertising themes, redesigning the teaching slides, and using the new slides for practical teaching; and then investigating the learning and advertising effectiveness of the new teaching slides, and using statistical methods to analyze the questionnaire survey. Finally, this research will propose the influence and effectiveness of applying the principles of visual design to improve the teaching slides and the form and suggestions for combining teaching slides with advertising.
