綠燈行車倒數計時顯示器設施係以顯示綠燈剩餘秒數資訊,提供駕駛人作為接近號誌化路口時煞停或續行駕駛決策之參考。近年來,中央及各地方政府針對該行車輔助設施之加裝是否可增進行車安全及效益之議題,存在著許多不同的看法,國內對於綠燈行車倒數計時顯示器雖有部分研究成果,但受限於資料蒐集技術及研究樣本較少等因素,尚未臻完善;且現階段國內多數研究僅針對現行之全時段倒數秒數顯示方式進行探討,對於不同倒數秒數顯示策略對駕駛人之影響分析仍相當匱乏,因此值得深入探討。
爰此,本研究擬透過於號誌化路口實測分析方式,針對尖、離峰不同時段之車流特性,探討不同綠燈倒數秒數顯示策略方案,對駕駛人行經交叉路口煞停或續行等相關行車決策行為之影響程度。為提升本研究蒐集車流資料之精確性,本研究透過結合新一代之高精密微波式車輛偵測器與號誌控制器,同步記錄與保存車輛通過停止線之車流特性及號誌燈態資料,以作為資料分析與駕駛行為探討之基礎。
研究結果顯示,綠燈行車倒數計時顯示器設施確實會影響駕駛人於號誌燈態變換期間之行駛車速,以平日尖峰時段而論,在有倒數秒數資訊提示輔助下,駕駛人於綠燈即將熄滅至紅燈始亮階段通過之車速明顯高於未有倒數秒數資訊時,甚至略高於道路速限,表示駕駛人因有輔助資訊而更有信心可透過加速行為於紅燈始亮前順利穿越路口。本研究也發現,僅提供駕駛人綠燈後段部份倒數秒數資訊,相較於綠燈全時段倒數之提示,具有在時相轉換期間通過車輛的加減速行為較不明顯、車速變化幅度較小,以及可減少超速行為發生與提昇路口通過率之特性。
Green signal countdown display is a subsidiary facility with a traffic light to provide drivers and pedestrians information of left green time then they may decide to stop or speed up to pass through. This facility has been discussed and studied in Taiwan in recent years but the performances of safety and efficiency with different display forms are not proved yet due to the constraint of data collection and data correctness.
The purposes of this study are discussing user behaviors with different display forms and time slots with real-world data. To have more precise data, new microwave vehicle detectors which simultaneous to signal controller have been applied to studied intersections to record the left green time or signal status while each vehicle passing the stop line.
The results prove that driver behaviors are different between with and without green signal countdown display. In peak hours in weekdays, drivers speed up to pass the intersection while green time is going to the end even exceeding speed limit during this time interval is rather more than others. The result indicates that drivers are more confident with green signal countdown display. The other contribution in this study is proving that providing left green time just during later green time interval can reduce the probability of exceeding speed limit than providing left green time during whole green time interval.
