The research goal of this work is to synthesize three new benzoic dicarboxylate ytterbium coordination polymers by hydrothermal reactions, which are Yb2(H2O)4(OBA)3·2H2O (1)、(C2N2H10)Yb2(H2O)2(OBA)4 (2)及(NH4)Yb(H2O)2(OBA)2 (3)。In 1, the OBA ligands assemble with ytterbium ions to form a two-dimensional network(layer). And fill with Lattice water to stabilize the structure between the layer and the layer. In 2, the OBA ligands assemble with ytterbium ions to form a two-dimensional network(layer). The protonated organic amine cation (C2N2H10)2+ regard organic template to fill in the two dimensional hole (18 Å x 27 Å) , so as to the balance structure electric neutrality and stabilizes this structure. In 3, the OBA ligands assemble with ytterbium ions to form a two-dimensional network(layer). The protonated organic amine cation (NH4)+ regard organic template to fill in the two dimensional sixteen-member ring (18 Å x 27 Å) , so as to the balance structure electric neutrality and stabilizes this structure. Furthermore, antiferromagnetic behaviors exist in the three ytterbium coordination polymers.
