背景：不孕症及其治療的相關研究發展至今已有相當的成果，許多研究也都呼應了近來重視病患經驗及病患參與的趨勢。既有的研究大都將焦點置於臨床決策這一單一事件，將接受不孕治療者視為虛弱的病人，而通常將觀察的場域侷限在「診間」當中。在診間中，其所得到的往往是片段的理解，從而無法看到病患作為醫療使用者之經驗的完整性，甚至誤判病患的結構限制與能動性。當我們在臨床決策中引入病患的參與後，同時也應該連結病患的生活世界，並透過治療軌跡這個更為完整的過程，來理解使用者的經驗，以及結構限制與能動性。
目的：（1）探索形塑女性不孕治療之治療軌跡的社會因素。（2）實驗一個以治療軌跡、多重身份主體及生活世界特點的分析架構，與過去以診間經驗、臨床決策及虛弱病人為特點的研究典範對話。
方法：（1）以南部地區不孕症專科醫師及中醫師提供的病患名單，以立意取樣的方式選取適合的受訪者進行深度訪談（2）以深度訪談之內容作為主要的資料來源，進行內容分析。
結果：（1）治療軌跡是迂迴的、多重環節的及開放的社會過程。（2）當事人是多重身份的主體，參與在診斷與治療的是以當事人為核心的社會網絡。（3）當事人將不孕治療視為完整的事件，並且以有意義的方式將各種看似相互矛盾、衝突的治療方式整合起來，成為一知識整體。

Background：A recent trend in the studies of infertility treatment experiences is the growing emphases upon patients’ experiences and participation in treatment processes. Most researches, however, focus upon clinical decision-making, taking individuals under treatment as weak patients, and limit observation scope to clinical room. Researches according to such conventional paradigm constitutive of clinical decision-making, weak patient and clinical room could only yield partial rather than integral understanding of the treatment process, even leading to inappropriate estimation of patient’s structural constraints and agency.

Objectives：By taking patients’ multiple identity into account, extending observation scope to patients’ life world, and enlarging observation object to treatment trajectory, this thesis aims：（1） to explore the social factors which shape the treatment trajectory of women under infertility treatment;（2）to experiment a methodological approach characteristic of treatment trajectory, subject with multiple identities and life-world as its core concepts, in contrast with conventional paradigm which focus on clinical decision-making, weak-patient and experiences in the clinical room.

Materials and Method：（1）In-depth interviews with female patients with infertility treatment experiences in the IVF center at NCKU Hospital and Chinese medicine clinic.（2）Content analysis of transcriptions from in-depth interviews.

Results：（1）Infertility treatment trajectory in general is a circuitous, multi-moment and open social process; their differences are not entirely depend on medical system involved and medical attribution of infertility. （2）Apart from medical users themselves, social relationships constituting their multiple identity also participate in shaping their distinctive treatment trajectories. （3）Drawing upon knowledge system constitutive of body experience, cultural capital, lay knowledge and worldview, the patients incorporate seemly contradictory, incompatible treatments into a meaningful, integral whole of experience.
