本研究的WebBBS系統是建構在HINTS (Health Information Network Teaching System)醫學教學系統中的輔助學習介面，亦可獨立於學習之外的資訊交流平台。我們利用網路上BBS的特性作為醫學院的教師與學生們資訊交流的空間並透過網路世界的即時性和無時空限制性的優點作為學生議題的發表和討論、作業指派及同儕評論學習(peer review)、資訊快速傳遞、資料的擷取等機制，使能快速獲取醫學新資訊並提升學生深層知識的建構層次。

　　系統結合多媒體的使用，讓版面以文字、影音多媒體等多元方式的呈現，方便使用者作為訊息輸入的媒介，讓傳統教室裡的討論，得以延伸於網際網路世界。利用WebBBS的匿名機制，可以讓沒時間或不敢問問題的學生有機會在網路上發言，發表自己的看法、分享及公開自己的文章、觀後感、作業或觀摩同學作品等的交流活動，對於教與學有相當大的助益。

　The WebBBS system in this research is constructed both in the interface of HINTS (Health Information Network Teaching System) for learning, and in the platform of information communication beyond learning. We utilize the featured BBS on the Internet as a tool for medical college faculty and students to exchange their information with one another. In addition, due to its advantageous characteristics of real time stream and non-spatial limitation, students can use the WebBBS as a mechanism to do the jobs such as initiative discussion, issue post, homework assignment, peer review, information transportation, and data retrieval in order to help them quickly access new information and enhance the depth of their new knowledge.

　The system displayed diversely in words, images and voices by combining with multi-media. This arrangement makes it a convenient tool for users to input information and extend the traditional instruction off the classroom to the Internet world. With an anonymous user ID, students, especially those who have little time or are shy of talking in public, can post their opinions, share their assignments or what they have learned, and view other classmates’ works through this system. All of those make great benefits for teaching and learning.
