This study was designed to examine the perception and resolution styles toward conflicts among 222 college students with borderline personality disorder features only (B+ group), 341 with dependent personality disorder features only (D+ group), 259 comorbid with borderline and dependent disorders features (Comorbidity) and 1783 healthy controls (Control group). 2605 college students were recruited and self-reported measures were administered. Based on the cut-off scores on Borderline and Dependent Personality Features Questionnaire, the B+, D+, comorbidity and control groups were identified. The results showed that the B+, D+, and comorbidity groups more likely to perceive conflict as threatening and use avoidance style of conflict resolution than the control group. The B+ and comorbidity groups reported higher levels of fighting than the D+ group, while the D+ and comorbidity groups revealed increased levels of conflict volatility than did the control group.
