In this study, we use the idea of crowdsourcing to design a mobile-oriented medication knowledge system. This system provides a platform for users to share their experiences about drugs such as side effects and unexpected symptoms. It is expected that interested users would learn medication knowledge by their mobile devices conveniently. Suppose that a user has some unexpected symptoms, the user may learn from others’ experiences and has a peer discussion with the doctor. This study also adopted the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) model to explore factors that determine users’ intention to use this system. One hundred participants were surveyed, using an amended version of UTAUT model. Four of the findings about this system are worth summarizing: (1) 91% participants feel that it is easy to use and help people to learn medication knowledge efficiently, (2) 75% participants whose age ranged from 26 to 45 were with high intention to use it, (3) social influence is direct determinants of usage intention, (4) 94% participants are not familiar with QR code.
