Medication box is an essential tool which assists outpatients to take medication at home. Taking the right medicine at the right time will certainly optimize the treatment effect. However, outpatients who need more prescriptions will have more complex schedule as the constraints for prescription increase. Taking wrong medicine leads to many implications such as illness or death. To solve this problem, intelligent medication box using RFID tag or QR-code to store the information of prescription is designed by some researchers. By analyzing RFID tag or QR code, the intelligent medication box obtains information of prescription and schedules the medication automatically. The improved medication box efficiently solves the problem of human error, but it leads to another problem, which is less humanized schedule. This automatic scheduler will set frequent reminders and affects the daily routine of outpatients, particularly when they are asleep.
In this paper, we present an algorithm in our proposed system, intelligent medication use solution (iMUS), to solve one of the less humanized schedule problems. The algorithm is called find overlap medication intake time (FOMIT) which aims to find group for every medication and reduce the frequency of medication reminder. In iMUS, an intelligent medication box (iMUS Base) collects the information of prescription and transfers it to a server (iMUS Agent) for medication grouping which reduces the frequency of medication conforming to the constraints of prescription. In the experiment, we design five algorithms to compare result of scheduling which dispatch time is less. The result show FOMIT algorithm get less dispatch time.
