由於TFT LCD的液晶本身不發光，必須藉由背光模組提供足夠亮度且均勻分布的光源，使TFT LCD可正常的顯示影像，故一般會將背光模組視為TFT LCD之引伸需求。但除TFT LCD本身市場需求所產生的因素外，應該還有其他影響因素，才會導致目前台灣市場上各家背光模組廠的經營規模不一，故本研究深入探討目前台灣背光模組產業之狀況及可能影響台灣主要的背光模組廠營收之因素，藉此對產業經營策略提出建議，以因應日漸嚴苛的產業競爭。
本研究蒐集2002Q1~2008Q2的變數季資料，用內插法將季資料轉成月資料，再以計量經濟學之方法與EViews程式進行迴歸分析，從中探討影響台灣主要的背光模組廠營收之因素。欲探討的變數有TFT LCD廠的營收、背光模組廠的庫存金額、背光模組廠的成本控管能力及背光模組廠的技術能力；樣本包含韓國三星、樂金及台灣友達、奇美、華映等5家廠商營收金額，還有瑞儀、輔祥、福華等3家背光模組廠營收金額、庫存金額、營運成本及研發經費等資料。
本研究實證結果歸納如下 :
1.客戶若太集中，很容易因為主要客戶轉單之影響，造成背光模組廠營收瞬間爆跌。另外低價搶單對背光模組廠商並非有利，要考量此種作法之合適性，以免影響公司後續之營運發展。
2.瑞儀的庫存金額對營收為顯著且正向之影響，輔祥及福華的庫存金額對營收的影響則不顯著。
3.成本控管對背光模組廠營收的影響非常顯著。
4.瑞儀及福華的技術能力對營收為顯著且負向之影響，輔祥的技術能力對營收的影響則不顯著。

Considering that liquid crystal of TFT LCD can’t display itself , it needs backlight module to provide enough and uniform brightness and let TFT LCD display images normally . That’s why backlight module is generally regarded as the derivative demand of TFT LCD . However , in addition to the demand from the market of TFT LCD , there should be some other factors to influence the scale of backlight module manufacturers . By reviewing the current situation of backlight module industry in Taiwan and some potential influences on manufacturers’ revenues , this research would try to give some suggestions on the management of this industry , so that they could deal properly with the gradually severe competitions in this industry .
This research collected variables of the quarterly data from 2002Q1 to 2008Q2 and transferred them into monthly data by means of linear interpolation . Furthermore , the regression analysis has been done with the methods of econometrics , along with the software of Eviews . By doing so , the influential factors on the revenues of the major backlight module manufacturers in Taiwan could be found . The variables in this research include the revenues of TFT LCD manufacturers and the stock amount of money of the backlight module manufacturers with the ability of controlling cost and technique . The revenue data of TFT LCD manufacturers are from Samsung Display , LG Display in Korea and AUO , CMO , Chunghwa Picture Tubes in Taiwan . As to the revenue data , the stock amount of money , the operating cost and the research and development expenses of the backlight module manufacturers , they are from Radiant Optoelectronics , Forhouse Corporation and Forward Electronics .
The following are the final results of this research :
1.If the backlight module manufacturer centralized the numbers of customer , and his main customers would transfer the orders to other makers , it will cause the sharply fall of the revenues . It is not always beneficial for the manufacturer to get the orders by means of low quotations . The company has to think whether this method is appropriate or not for feat that it may affect the future development of the company .
2.The stock amount of money in Radiant Optoelectronics affects the revenue obviously and positively . On the other hand , the stock amount of money in Forhouse Corporation and Forward Electronics don’t affect their revenues obviously .
3.The control of cost affects the revenues of the backlight module manufacturers very apparently .
4.The technical ability of Radiant Optoelectronics and Forward Electronics has a obviously negative affect on the revenues . On the other hand , the technical ability of Forhouse Corporation doesn’t impact its revenue that obviously .
