近年來社會對於智慧財及專利的觀念越來越重視，如何利用相關的專利來建起專業領域的進入門檻及謀取最大的利益?這已經成為許多企業在擬定技術方針及發展策略上很重要的一部份。而在專利領域中最重要的一環便是相關專利資料的獲取，這部分可以藉由專利資料庫所提供的檢索介面獲得，但由於專利屬地主義的原則，各國的專利均分散在各自的資料庫系統上，該如何快速獲得專利資料並進行整合管理及分析，便成為了一關鍵的課題。
本研究旨在透過匯整式搜尋引擎（Meta-Search engine）的概念，藉由網路蒐集各大專利資料庫所提供的專利資料，並加以彙集，且依照專利的特性提供輔助的管理機制，例如個人化的專利組合，依照特定的目的及需求進行專利佈局；以及針對國際分類碼(IPC)及專利間引証關係提供圖形化分析介面等機制，方便使用者對所蒐集到的知識進行知識管理。並更進一步藉此獲得專利價值所帶來的利益及優勢。

The society has realized the importance of the ideas of patent and
intelligence in the recent years. How to utilize these patents to build up
professional know-how for optimizing potential profits? These issues
have been essential for many enterprises when making technical
guidelines and strategic developments. The most important part is use of
other related patent information which can be obtained from search index
provided by patent database. Since patents are acre-originated, desired
patent information are widely spread in databases all over the world. To
obtain these patents efficiently for having them integrated and analyzed
has become an important subject.
This research has been done with the concept of Meta-Search Engine,
which gathered patents from major patent databases through the network.
It has followed the characteristic of patents to provide assistance for
managing these patents. For example; personalized patent combination,
which create patents according to specific goals and demands; graphical
analytic platform provided by International Patent Classification and
references between patents. These have made managing and analyzing
gathered patent information easier, and therefore further achieving the
values of patent and potential profits.
