現今台灣地區交通流量與日俱增,車輛行經重要路口常因號誌時制週期長無法確知紅、綠燈剩餘時數,以致於大量車流在綠燈結束時仍繼續通過路口、在紅燈期間等待過久造成駕駛者焦慮感增加、或紅燈結束後車輛並未即時起步因而增加損失時間之現象,甚或忽略了第三、第四時相,險象環生,為避免此狀況及減少車禍發生,以提高行車安全及路口淨空率,並提昇道路使用人注意號誌之重要性,近年來多個縣市開始在路口號誌加裝倒數計時器。而行車號誌倒數計時器最主要的目的是提供駕駛人更多時相變換的資訊,其形式主要有三種:紅燈倒數計時器、綠燈倒數計時器、紅燈與綠燈皆倒數之計時器,其主要是針對紅燈與綠燈時相進行倒數計時,使駕駛人可更清楚掌握號誌時相轉換狀況。
本研究主要目的希望建立一套行車號誌倒數計時器設置程序,首先期望藉由相關文獻回顧與專家學者訪談,歸納出影響設置號誌倒數計時器之因子(車流、路型等),藉由此因子選擇受測地點,透過現場觀測與資料蒐集分析,觀察駕駛人在號誌倒數計時器開啟與關閉時之駕駛行為差異,由調查資料分析結果了解符合該因子之路口是否確實因設置倒數計時器與否而有所差異,進而確認適合設置倒數計時器之因子,研究結果顯示顯著影響之因子有「車速」及「路口流量」,將此兩因子納入設置程序參考指標中,對於日後評估路口設置倒數計時器可依據此兩個因子來判斷;另本研究亦期望能探討適合駕駛人之設置形式,因此利用問卷調查方式調查駕駛人感受及偏好之設置形式,作為設置程序中設置形式規劃之參考,結果指出駕駛人較偏好外加於燈號旁之設置形式;綜合以上彙整出行車號誌倒數計時器之設置程序,並期望能提供予政府單位作為參考。
The countdown display is the countdown counter installed on the traffic signal, and many cities have installed it in recent years. The main purpose of the countdown display is to give the drivers more information during change interval. The types of countdown displays included: red-light countdown, green-light countdown, and both red-light and green-light countdown. Although many cities have installed the countdown display, there have no unified installation procesure. And in the relating researches, there are different conclusions about the relationship between the driver behavior and countdown display.
It hopes this study can researches the installation procesure of the countdown display. It focuses on installation indices and installation form. At first we affirm the influence of the countdown display. Second, we try to analyze the effects of traffic signal countdown displays regarding different factors. The result shows that the factors “average speed” and “volumes” are influential factors. These two factors subsumed to the installation procesure as the indices. Third, through the questionnaire investigated the drivers’ reception and their preference. After statistic analyzing, it reveals that the drivers think about the countdouwn display useful and they prefer the form of beside the traffic display. To synthesize the above-mentioned, this study makes up the installation procesure of countdoun display, and hopes it will be provided to the government as reference.
