建築身處都市中與之互相呼應與牽制。而都市除了既成的空間環境，亦包含各種實體或概念的流動。本論文由都市流動的觀點著手， 以惡質的橋下空間及廢棄的綠川堤岸詮釋都市中川流的交會空間。

本論文分為三大部分：
一、 都市與流動:由各種人、貨、資本、訊息的流動網絡更迭發軔，梳耙社會結構與都市發展的脈絡。並檢視工業革命之後，效率的都市生活，使人蹇困於效率的迷思，鎮日庸碌得不到片刻閒適。最後反觀現代都市，各種效率的交通設施橫越而過，切割城市空間，阻斷各種興盛的川流，造成許多都市空間惡化。
二、流動的台中:台中是一個流動的城市，因其地理居中優勢，快速流通發展直至今日，遂成中台灣的核心都市。而其快速流動與發展卻造成現今的市區快速地衰落。
三、引納百川:因應台中市鐵路高架化的計畫，藉結構的美感重塑都市腐化的堤岸及鐵道沿線空間。降低交通建設對都市的破壞，並以文化與休閒的新川流活化衰敗的台中市區。

良與惡其僅存於觀者的心中，一個新的都市建設，同樣地，皆具有善惡的雙面性。而建築設計的挑戰便是增進其善的一面，並重新詮釋其惡成為特有的空間趣味。

Architecture in the urban context cooperates and relates to the whole city. Except the built environment, the urban also contains various flows of entities and concepts. This thesis, from the viewpoint of urban mobility, represents an urban connection space on the discarded Lu-Chuan Canal Bank under the elevated railway.
This thesis includes three parts as follows:
1.City and fluxes
To arrange the sequence of city development in social structure, this thesis starts from the changes of urban fluxes network - people, commodities, capital, information, and focuses on the “efficiency” which speeds up the modern city life. The fast passing traffic system accelerates the city life, however, it obstructs the urban fluxes, and separates the city into pieces which result the decayed urban space.
2.Flowing city – Taichung City
Taichung, a flowing city, quickly develops from a geographic center which gathering variety of fluxes and becomes the core city of the central Taiwan. However, the fast developments and over-flows cause the decline in downtown nowadays.
3.Design proposal
Based on The Taichung City Elevated Railway Plan, my design proposal hopefully reforms elevated railway and Lu-Chuan Canal Bank as a ”Connection Space” which will diminish the harm of the elevated railway by creating the esthetic structure, and revive the activities of the downtown by adding new fluxes of culture and leisure.

To be good or to be bad depends on the different view-stands. A new urban development has both good as well as bad. It is the challenges of architectural design to improve the good and, most importantly, turn the bad into the character of the space.
