This study explores the shared mental models on knowledge sharing and innovation performance of startups in Taiwan and also consider the impact of the social network between the shared mental models and knowledge sharing. The study was administered to Taiwan’s startups. A total of 217 valid questionnaries were collected, which belongs to 61 startups. The results showed that shared mental models have a significant positive effect on team knowledge sharing. Task consensus has a significant positive on innovation performance. Team knowledge sharing has a significant effect on innovation performance. With the team knowledge sharing as a mediator, the shared mental models influence innovation performance. It is recommended that Tawan’s startups should develop the shared mental models in order to allow team to respond more tacitly and get higher coordination and also create the knowledge sharing atmosphere, the team leader should ecourage each team member expressing their thoughts and interacting with others for further establishment of a good team culture and achieve the goal of knowledge sharing in order to pursue creativity.
