  • 本研究的主要目的是探討及建立一個以行動代理者運用於分散式管理系統的組織架構來進行主動式網路管理的系統,利用行動代理者移動性與減少網路的流量等諸多之優點來進行主動式網路管理,可分散管理者端的工作並有效的減輕網路流量,被管理端透過監控程式也可自行偵測本機的問題後,即時告知管理端,並將傳統被動式的網路管理提升為主動式的網路管理。
    傳統的 SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) 網路管理協定管理者需不斷做探詢的動作,重複或不必要的資料可能佔用了大量的網路頻寬,且其為一被動性之協定,管理端無法於被管理端出現錯誤時的第一時間做處理,被管理端也無法主動即時告知管理端其目前遇到之狀況,因此本論文提出將 Mobile Agent 運用於分散式管理系統,以 Mobile Agent Network Management Protocol 進行 LAN 和 WAN 兩層網路管理架構 (Two-layer network management framework) 來減少網路流量的浪費,提供 LAN (Local Area Network,區域網路) 和 WAN (Wide Area Network,廣域網路) 即時之管理資源,減少許多不必要的網路流量,每個區域網路都有一個區域網路管理者 (Local Network Manager) ,而所有區域網路管理者則由一個廣域網路管理者 (Global Network Manager) 所管理與監控,被管理端設備可以接收或或兩者同時送出的管理指令,而被管端所回應之管理資訊將單一各自回應,提供即時性的資訊,如此便是利用行動帶者漫游網路之優點,以一行動帶者攜帶管理者指令漫游網路減少網路壅塞,改善主從式架構一一傳送指令,佔用大量網路頻寬的缺點。
    本論文是以 TCP/IP 作為網路管理和通訊協定,於本實驗室自行發展的 MACE (Mobile Agent Carrier Environment) 系統作為行動代理者的實驗執行環境,所有架構是依 MACE 系統所訂定之 Agentlet-Serverlet 架構來設計並以實現自動回報機制之網路管理系統。

    The main purpose of this thesis is to design and implement a mobile agent framework for distributed and active network management. By the mobility and the network traffic reduction of mobile agent, the managed devices or hosts can detect the problem of local host by the monitor function. And the managed devices or hosts also can inform actively the manage station what the problem occurs.
    The traditional methods of network management have to do the polling. Redundancies and unnecessary data occupy a lot of network bandwidth. And it is a passive protocol, manager can’t know what problems occur right away. Also, the managed devices or hosts can’t inform actively. By using autonomous mobile agents with Mobile Agent Network Management Protocol (MANMP), the two-layer network management framework proposed in this thesis. The two-layer network management framework can reduce unnecessary network traffic and provide timely management resources in a LAN and a WAN. Managed devices or hosts may be configured to take instructions from either the Global Network Manager or the Local Network Manager, or both. Managed devices or hosts will answer his problem by themselves. Thus MANMP is proposed to make managed devices more active than passive.
    In this research, we use TCP/IP protocols for the network management and communication, and MACE (Mobile Agent Carrier Environment) system developed ourselves for the execution environment of mobile agent. The implementation of all system follows the Agentlet-Serverlet architecture of MACE. The prototypes of the framework will attain Distributed active network management technologies.
