臺灣人西進中國大陸發展的情況一直為學界所關注，且兩岸關係的起伏雖時常隨著政黨輪替而有較為不同的官方互動程度，然而在社會、民間方面，仍然有一定的往來，比如赴陸發展的臺商、受雇者，或是前往中國大陸求學的臺灣人。臺灣民意又對於兩岸之間的經貿來往有不一樣的態度，不同背景的群體亦會受到不一樣的因素影響，進而決定其是否對兩岸來往為支持或是反對，過往文獻多提到臺灣民眾會受到感性層面如統獨意識因素的影響；也會受到理性層面如自評利益因素的影響，訴諸情感或理性的掙扎往往影響民意對兩岸關係的態度。
因此根據本研究目的，希望以宏觀層面、微觀層面的角度，前者如兩岸整體情勢、惠臺相關政策；後者如個人情感或理性層面的考量，來釐清何項因素會影響民眾赴陸或留陸的意願，再檢視變項的影響程度，並整合推拉理論的應用探討中國大陸所存在之推拉力，藉此反觀臺灣能改善或值得嘉許之處，同時也探討了續留當地發展的種種問題。
本研究採用深度訪談法與文獻分析法來訪問並分析8位受訪者赴陸或留陸之意願，其中4位為在陸受雇者、4位為在陸求學者，其均須在中國大陸待滿或預計待滿兩年且每年在陸時間超過183天，於此可了解較長期待在當地之工作、就學的臺灣人當初之赴陸動機與是否持續留陸的意願。本研究發現如下，第一、微觀層面的影響程度遠多於宏觀層面的影響程度；第二、在微觀層面中，薪資的影響多於過往認為統獨意識與身分認同所帶來的影響，亦即民眾會以薪資作為其考量是否赴陸或繼續留陸發展的首要因素。

This study focuses on Taiwanese who headed to China for their career and education. The purpose aims to examine what factors can influence their motivation or willingness when it comes to decide whether they would like to go to China or even staying there for longer. Although there are some differences between the officials of Taiwan and China until now, however, the interactions among the people of both sides never stop, like people who are willing to go to China in order to seek opportunities. Also, the economic policies conducive to Taiwan issued by China’s government don’t seem to cut back as well.
The trend of Taiwanese who go to China has always been a topic in academic circles. According to many previous studies, Taiwan citizens’ positions on its cross-strait relations with China would be infected by factors of both material interests and personal affections. As two contrary factors, the latter will surpass the effect of individual’s rational calculation of material interests.
Thus, this research tries to combine push-pull theory and investigate which micro factors or macro factors will have an impact on the motivation or willingness of Taiwanese going to China for opportunities. While the former factors include self-interests and personal affections, as the latter factors focus on the ambience between Taiwan and China as well as the economically beneficial policies for Taiwan issued by China’s government. Result shows that regarding to the wave for Taiwanese to go west, micro factors are much more important than macro factors, and among the micro factors, salary treatment is the main reason to be considered.
INTRODUCTION

Although working or studying abroad is a common situation all over the world, still, due to the political disputes between Taiwan and China, Taiwanese who go to China for work or school will attract people’s attention, especially when there is a “Rush” to go there. More explicitly, when interacting or trading with China which become more economically important to Taiwan, the attitudes of the general public in Taiwan toward this trend to go west could either have a greater likelihood of being friendly positive or become more likely to be negative. The reason might be China’s government suppresses Taiwan’s diplomatic relations from time to time and the problem of the sovereignty dispute, so people will find them emotionally unsatisfying.
Even though the contradiction as mentioned above, Taiwanese still try to go to China for a better salary treatment or education. Therefore, the research attempts to describe what factors will affect the motivation or willingness of people who go to China for opportunities and tries to discuss the details of them keep staying in China or not.
