伊斯蘭改革的本質在於落實古蘭經教義，重建先知典範。然而，在不同的歷史背景下，復興運動也會因推動者的意圖、穆斯林社群之處境而呈現複雜性。十八世紀以降，清朝漢語穆斯林社群便受到伊斯蘭中土改革思潮的影響，展開再伊斯蘭化的改革運動，但卻在主流漢文化的環境壓力下失敗。至二十世紀初，受到現代伊斯蘭世界的復興改革思潮、中國政治與社會背景，以及清朝之後中國伊斯蘭發展等三個因素所影響，漢語穆斯林社群再度展開復興運動。在這三個環境脈絡下，現代中國伊斯蘭復興運動卻逐步走向政治化，導致原初的復興與改革理念無法落實。本論文試圖就上述三個脈絡檢視現代中國伊斯蘭復興運動，並以其中的關鍵人物—馬福祥與馬鴻逵父子為例，探討此運動走向政治化的原因，以呈現現代中國西化環境下漢語穆斯林社群的轉變過程。

The nature of Islamic revival is to re-implement the Qur'anic teachings and revive the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad. Because of different historical contexts and ideologies of reform, there is a wide diversity of the Islamic revival throughout the Islamdom. As from the 18th century onwards, Han-speaking Muslims (Hui) had been influenced by the revival and reform movements in the Central Lands of Islam, which stimulated Islamic revival movement in China. However, due to the oppression from the central government and the Han mainstream culture, it failed. In the early 20th century, Han-speaking Muslims initiated another revival movement based on three factors—the Islamic revival movement in modern Islamic world, the social and political background of modern China, and the development of Muslim community. Nevertheless, the revival movement in modern China was gradually getting into politicization, and consequently the goal of reestablishing Islamic ideology waned. This thesis researches the reason for the politicization of revival movement by examining the pivotal figures—Ma Fuxiang and Ma Hongkue, along with the three factors mentioned above, in order to shed light on the transformation of Han-speaking Muslim community during this period.
