消費偏好的改變與市場的競爭激烈下,包裝的發展趨勢逐漸朝向精緻化,但此現象卻造成了過度包裝的問題。過度包裝產生的廢棄物量甚多、其龐大體積與複雜的結構,不但增加前期銷售端組裝操作的不便與耗時、更讓消費者在使用期間增加負面感知與操作不便性,導致消費者對於重複使用與正確拆解回收的意願下降。為了使包裝設計更能貼近消費者使用方便性,而非只注重在視覺或外型上的變化,本研究期望以重新設計結構的方式改善過度包裝現象,以包裝的使用生命週期之相關聯的動作為基礎,結合消費者對於使用之中的操作性,並以簡易方便的視覺感知與減量材料使用之目的進行設計。
研究首先會分成兩個部分,並以市售常見包裝:分別為「折疊式」、「鎖底式」、「裝配式」對應食品、化妝品、酒品包裝為目標,以「操作可見性」理論為方向探討使用者對於包裝的操作性,並應用MDS多維尺度對包裝的操作可見性(Affordance)進行聚類分析,將較概念化的操作可見性以關鍵字的型態,收斂成設計規範。第二部分會定義包裝的功能,分析與識別其重要功能,將部件合併並建立群組,將其以功能為基礎產生不同型態,並使用模糊評判基礎計算各部件隸屬度以建立設計方案。最後再以操作可見性關鍵字來建立評估模型,結合操作性實驗驗證模糊評判的結果,並從中選擇出最佳方案。最後針對得出之最佳方案進行材料減量、操作性來驗證最佳方案的可行性,由結果可知此操作可見性評估模型得出的設計優於原公版的設計,因此證明該設計流程的應用可以利於後續提供該產業發展。
With the change of consumer preferences and intense market competition, the evolution of packaging trends is changing progressively, also has inadvertently led to the issue of excessive packaging. The consequential waste generated from excessive packaging, is by its considerable volume and intricate structures, not only contributes to inconveniences and time consumption during assembly at the retail end but also exacerbates negative consumer perceptions and operational difficulties during use. This situation subsequently diminishes consumers' willingness to engage in reuse and proper disassembly for recycling.
This research seeks to address the problem of excessive packaging through a structural redesign approach. Through analyzing lifecycle-associated actions of packaging usage, the study merges consumers' operational perspectives with a focus on visual perceptibility and reduced material usage. The research is divided into two main parts, focusing on commercial used packaging types: "Folding," "Tuck-Lock," and "Assembly" packaging, corresponding to food, cosmetics, and wine packaging. Guided by the theory of "Affordance". In the first part, users' perceptions of packaging usability are investigated and established, then, applying Multi-Dimensional Scaling (MDS) and clustering analysis, to extract the conceptual aspects of Affordance into keywords of design requirement. In the second part, packaging functions are identified by the design requirements. Components are separated and regrouped, merged based on these functions, generating various forms in functionality to establish morphological charts. Then fuzzy comprehensive evaluation is applied, by calculating the membership function of individual components to create design alternative based on it. The final step involves establishing an evaluation model using Affordance keywords. This model is validated through operational experiments, corroborating the outcomes of fuzzy comprehensive results of the optimal design. Subsequently, the selected optimal solution is subjected to material reduction and operational validation to verify its feasibility. The results demonstrate that the design derived from the Affordance assessment model surpasses the original generic design, validating the applicability of this design process, and suggesting its potential contribution to the industry's future development.
