心理地理學是由國際情景主義者Guy Debord 提出的不同以往由客觀角度看待城市的理論。他主張由主觀的角度出發，以漫步的方式探索個人在城市中的情緒、感受及行為等。心理地圖則是將這些在城市中漫遊的個人經驗記錄下來，繪製而成的地圖。創作者根據自己對於城市的主觀感受轉化成地圖，表達情感、記憶、行為、氛圍、過去的經驗等。如今，有越來越多人以不同形式，如插圖、相片、聲音等來創作自己的心理地圖。
文學是一種重要的城市文化，文學和城市之間是互相影響。作家的寫作風格會受到城市的文化所影響，而文學作品則紀錄了城市的變遷，並反映了其文化價值及特色。文學展現了城市的時間與空間，作家在描寫城市時，會將自己對於該城市的了解轉化為文字，並加入主觀的描述。而這種拆解再重構的行為與心理地理學的概念相似，而文學也被認為是心理地理學最初的應用。
因此，本研究從心理地理學的角度出發，探討臺南本地作家葉石濤與日本作家佐藤春夫所撰寫的臺南城市文學作品，將來自不同社會及文化觀點的臺南文學作品解構並視覺化重構為文學心理地圖，呈現不同於以往的臺南城市地圖，挖掘臺南的特色，強化人們對於城市的理解。並藉由研究及實作成果，探討文學心理地圖未來可應用於文化相關產業的發展。

Psychogeography is a term differs from the conventional objective perspective of city geography proposed by the leader of International Situationist—Guy Debord. He suggested the subjective approach to explore the individual emotions, feelings, and behaviors in the city through wandering without a destination. A psychogeographical map is a record of the drifting practiced by them. Creators made maps based on their subjective consciousnesses of cities: emotions, memories, behaviors, atmospheres, and their past experiences. Now, people make their own psychogeographical maps in several types such as illustrations, photos, and sounds, to show their perceptions of cities.
Literature is an important element of urban culture, and they influence each other. The mentalities and writing styles of writers are influenced by their urban cultures. Literature records the changes in cities and reflects the cultural values and characteristics of cities. Literature can express the temporal and spatial dimensions of a city as well. To describe a city, writers should translate their pre-understanding of the city into words and add subjective arrangement and descriptions. This process of deconstruction and reconstruction is similar to the concept of psychogeography. Indeed, literature is also regarded as the initial application of psychogeography.
Therefore, this research conducts from the perspective of psychogeography to explore Tainan city literary works by local writer Yeh Shyr-Tau and Japanese writer Haruo Sato. The researcher deconstructs and reconstructs these Tainan literary works with different social and cultural perspectives into literary psychogeographical maps, showcasing the different city maps of Tainan from before. The objectives of this research are to find the distinctive characteristics of Tainan and to deepen people’s understanding of Tainan. Through the theoretical and practical outcomes, this research explores the future application and development of literary psychogeographical maps in cultural industries.
