我國塑膠機械產業享譽全球,在台灣機械產品今年的整體產值約372億新台幣,出口排名全國第二,是以外銷為導向的重點機械產業,其台灣塑膠機械產業的特性具有機械品質優良、價格低廉等特色。但目前遭遇開發中國家以機械產品模仿、低價策略及生產技術提升等威脅,尤其是直接衝擊國內規模較小的中小企業生產業者,如果不能透過學術結合實務產業的研究來尋找出適合台灣塑膠機械產業的國際競爭策略與方向,將會影響我國整體塑膠機械產業在國際間的發展。
本研究乃是參考國內學者陳正男與譚大純(1997)以Michael Porter 在1990年的鑽石模型理論為基礎,進而發展出五角鑽石模型為本研究架構,並採用AHP層級分析為研究方法。經由實證結果顯示影響我國塑膠機械產業國際競爭力最大的構面為『廠商策略、結構與競爭之因素』,而前三大重要的影響關鍵因素分別為『客製能力的具備與否』、『企業經營者的理念及素養』與『完整的配銷、行銷系統』,值得我國塑膠機械產業相關領域政府單位、專家和廠商的重視與參考。
Taiwan is one of the largest manufacturing and exporting country in plastic machinery industry in the global place. It is well known for its reasonable price, sophisticated design and well-trained after service.
The plastic machinery also holds an important place in Taiwan machinery industry. In 2006, the total revenue of Taiwanese plastic machinery industry reached NT37.2 Billion, which made the plastic machinery industry the second largest exporter among Taiwan machinery Industry. The plastic machinery in Taiwan is an exporting oriented industry, thus the global machinery environment is very critical for Taiwanese machinery manufacturers.
In recent years, there are many fast growing countries, such as China and India, has threatened Taiwan plastic machines by good imitation skills and low production and selling cost which combined with fast improving technical and production manufacturing skills. The threats could serious impact the weaker small and middle companies in Taiwan. In order to be competitive in the global market, Taiwanese should serious consider what are the right and most suitable strategies for Taiwan machinery industry. The academic theories and practical experience can’t work alone to fully exercise these strategies. Thus, it is critical to value both equally to have the best outcome, to be most competitiveness.
The research was developed based on the theory of Dr. Chen and Dr. Tang’s “Five Point Diamond Model” (1997), which was inspired by Michael Porter’s “Diamond Model” (1990). Then, the research continued to analyze the industry by using “Analytic Hierarchy Process” (Thomas Saaty, 1970) to recognize the possible best choices. The results of research suggested that Taiwan plastic machinery industry could be affected the most by three factors listed as following: business strategy, corporate structure, and competitive.
To be more specific, a well-trained leader who has clear vision, a well-developed corporate and marketing structure and an outstanding capability to customize all products are keys to made Taiwan plastic machinery to be more competitive in the future.
The government, machinery industry experts and all manufactures of Taiwan should serious consider the findings and apply the best decision to strengthen the plastic machinery industry of Taiwan.
