面對不斷創新、驟變的國際市場，企業除了維持、精進自身獨佔的優勢核心技術外，更需迅速適應全球化的合作、挑戰及競爭等局勢，若企求維持一定的獲利，不單只是既有的產品單價決定利潤而已，更著重在:小至生產流程，大至全球運籌過程中，尋求多重效益、降低產銷階段的成本、減少各階段的風險，都是企業的營運策略規劃，迫切的課題。
此時，4PL在企業的繁雜供應鏈管理上扮演著重要且關鍵性的角色。從1980年開始，從傳統的企業內部物流，演變至今，已強調整合電子化服務與物流資訊服務。本研究從四種層面的成本，所收集的實際數據證實，第四方物流確實發揮效能，從1PL蛻變至今，替傳統產業的客戶，提升具有競爭力的實質供應鏈綜效。

All enterprises in the world not only maintain and improve their core competence of the corporations but also adjust to fast varied global corporation 、challenges and competitive environment. Firms increase more revenue according to unit price of product as well as seeking for multi profit 、cost down at all kinds of production、marketing process and lower risks during global logistics. For them, it’s surely significant and urgent issues.
Right now, 4PLS play a crucial and critical role at sophisticated global supply chain. From 1980s, logistics was transformed to electronic service and logistics information. This research proves 4PLS carried out actual benefit by collecting pertinent data.
