本篇論文中,我們介紹一種讓使用者輸入一張影像就可以透過不同字型自動做出文字藝術作品。這種方法能以文字取代線條,拼貼出想要的影像輪廓。以往的文字藝術,多數以填滿影像為主,透過字詞的大小以及聚合來達到影像的填滿效果,最具代表的文字藝術就是文字雲。而本篇論文則和其不同,不以字詞的集合產生形狀,而是使用文字本身的形狀結構去貼合影像的輪廓,進而得出另一種文字藝術。和文字雲的聚集效果大為不同在於,我們較注意文字的結構與形狀輪廓的相關性,希望在兩者之間取得平衡並呈現藝術性的結果。我們提出一種方法,將影像與字母經過前置處理轉成曲線、分析文字形狀結構,並透過一些方法得出兩者的相關性以及透過計算得出文字確切的位置,並加入一些限制條件希望文字保持完整且清晰可見。最後,我們用我們的方法製作了一系列的對比圖進行比較,來證實所提出考慮條件是必需的。也製作了數張結果,證明使用我們的方法製作出的效果美觀且不突兀。
We propose a novel method to generate calligraphy art from a single input image by replacing the partial curves of the image with the best matched shape of characters. The salient structure of the image is preserved, and the contour is reconstructed with characters. Most previous word arts focus on the word filling process inside a specific contour. In contrast to word cloud, our work focuses on the replacement process to find best matching character to the structure of the input image. In our framework, we first segment the input image into regions, and convert a character into a single curve. Second, We analyze the structure of the region contour and the curve of character for finding the relationship between the structure of the character and the salient contour in the image. We proposed a modified partial curve matching to generate a stylized word art composite with character. A series of comparative results are generated to demonstrate the flexibility of the constraint metrics, and the results of the proposed system are visually compelling.
