The present study explores the perceptions of Russian expatriates regarding the legal requirements that guide Russians interested in working in Taiwan. It serves as a needs-assessment of the needed requirements for knowledge improvements for Russian expats, by using survey questionnaires (Google Survey) to gather data, the present research project seeks to identify potential legal hurdles that Russians face when working as expatriates in Taiwan. The Push/Pull Factors Model of migration proposed by Lee, (1966) will be used to examine the effect of the Taiwan legal environment on employment opportunities for Russian expatriates. A sample of 211 participants to include Russian expatriates in Taiwan (Taipei, Taichung, Tainan, and Kaohsiung) will be recruited to participate in an online survey questionnaire of the present study. The results of the study were analyzed using CFA and SEM statistical analysis. Analysis of the results reveals that tax policies, culture and character of the Taiwanese influences the work performance of Russian expatriates in Taiwan. This study has various theoretical and practical implications, such as adding to the plethora of literature in the topic and increasing the pool of knowledge for companies employing foreign expatriates. The limitations of this study include the inclusion of a rather broad scope of research.
