長久以來我們已經習慣遙控器的操作模式,包含按鍵式或薄膜式的遙控器與電視顯示幕上所呈現出來螢幕功能介面(On Screen Display,OSD),然實際上其操作模式與績效,在使用性(usability)上出現了一些仍待解決的問題。本研究以觸控板(touchpad)的操作模式運用在遙控器上,並探討其OSD介面之使用性,亦同時針對觸控板式之遙控器設計,進行使用性問卷與評估。
實際上,使用者是透過遙控器來選擇欲調整之電視資訊,包含選台、音量、色彩‥等,OSD介面與使用者之間的互動也越顯重要;其內容與功能相對增加且複雜,因此設計出合乎簡易、容易理解、方便操作與錯誤率低的螢幕功能介面產品與遙控器,將是本研究探討的重點。以液晶電視(TFT-LCD TV)為主要顯示裝置,分析其OSD與一般遙控器之介面設計原則及功能需求,前期利用問卷調查方式,針對OSD與遙控器使用性之問題,進行討論;將觸控板之遙控器予以產品概念化之後,再以電腦軟體模擬螢幕操作介面,讓使用者依據任務要求操作,最後以使用性工程評估。
本研究成果:
(1)以使用性的概念設計觸控板遙控器,並以模擬介面的方式來實現OSD的操作模式,最後獲得具體的使用性工程評估成效。
(2)第一次使用在整體操作績效與錯誤率,按鍵式遙控器優於觸控板遙控器;但在第二次使用(學習性)與光線昏暗環下,觸控板遙控器在操作績效與錯誤次數較優,且在複雜的記憶性測試,亦是觸控板遙控器優於一般遙控器。
(3)滿意度上仍以觸控板遙控器在整體滿意度與直覺、方便、燈光昏暗時操作上是容易的與手指移動操作上是容易的‥等五項滿意度指標獲得分數較高。
Our lifestyles had grown accustomed to the convenience of remote controls, comprising of the button or thin-film types of remote controllers interacting with onscreen menus and function displays on the television. However, there are still usability issues to be resolved between the actual controls and overall user experience. The present research looks at the usability of OSD interfaces through the touch panel based remote control, in addition to conducting the usability questionnaire and evaluations on the touch panel type remote control design.
In practice, the user selects the television functions, channels, volume, and color etc. through the remote control, all the while interaction between the OSD interface and user is also gaining key importance. The features and functions are becoming increasingly complex, thus this research focuses on the well designed OSD and remote controller with the aim of simplicity, ease to understand, ease-of-use, and low rates of error. The TFT-LCD television is the main display device used for analysis on the design principles and functions of its OSD and the standard remote control. Questionnaires are used in the preliminary stage to investigate the usability of the OSD and remote controller. After the touch pad type remote control is conceptualized into a product, the system is simulated on a computer and tested on selected subjects to evaluate its usability engineering.
Results of the research: (1)The concept design of remote control on using touchpad with usability, to be operation of OSD with simulate interface, and getting concrete evaluation of usability engineering. (2) First time, total operated evaluation and error that standard remote control better than touchpad remote control. But second time and dusky light, touchpad remote control better than standard remote control, as well as the test of complex memory.(3) The five satisfaction of touchpad remote control is higher score on total satisfaction and intuition, convenient, operated is easier in the dusky light, and finger moving.
