In recent years, along with the rapid development of artificial intelligence(AI), there are more and more enterprises introduced AI to improve business process and efficiency. Humans and machines work together becomes a trend, and how to manage humans and machines collaboration is an important issue for managers. Therefore, this study based on the micro-level viewpoint of the Assemblage Theory to explore how humans and machines collaborate, and conclude the role of machine in the human-machine collaboration(HMC) team as well as find out the important factors that facilitate the successful collaboration between humans and machines.

Therefore, this study adopted multiple-case design in qualitative research method to investigate the collaboration between humans and machines in the different situations. According to theoretical sampling, this study selected the three cases that corresponds to theory. Besides, the data in this study came from primary and secondary data. The former which collected from in-depth interviews and experience activities; the latter which collected from internal data, newspaper and magazines.

From this study, we found out that expressive role of the machines will influence the pattern of HMC and we further concluded that machine will play the role of partner, assistant and learner in the HMC team. Furthermore, the process of territorialization and deterritorialization, like institutions, norms or team climate will influence the agency of assemblage. Through the findings above, this study aimed to provide suggestions for companies which are going to introduce AI into business process.
