進出一個密閉空間,門的「推」與「拉」為我們一天當中經常做的手部動作。然而,究竟要以「推」或「拉」的方式操作一扇門,卻常常令行為者感到困惑。這種「推、拉曖昧」不明的情況,尤其時常發生在公共場合。因此,在緊急逃生的危及情況下,行為者可以直覺的去「推」或「拉」開門,更是涉及到人員性命安全與否的關鍵。
本研究藉由廣泛的收集日常生活中具推或拉操作的物件,探討介於行為者與物件之間的「推與拉Affordance」以便重新思考門的「推」、「拉」操作設計,減少上述「推、拉曖昧」的問題。
本研究以會議討論的方式,從百科全書廣泛收集並製作成122張具推、拉Affordance的物件樣本。然後將該樣本以規劃訪談的方式,整理出物件之推、拉Affordance特徵屬性;接下來讓受測者對樣本進行「推群組」、「拉群組」、「推、拉曖昧群組」之評價,再經由數量化I類分析出「推意象Affordance」、「拉意象Affordance」、「推、拉曖昧意象Affordance」之物件特徵屬性影響權重,並將數值得點高的類目分別加於門上作驗證。
研究結果指出:
1.門把之「推意象Affordance」特徵屬性,為「片面狀」之形狀;手部與其操作部相對比例關係為「手掌(小於手掌)」;操作部的可能移動方式為「可移動輪軸(內容物在前方)」;而不受材質影響。
2.門把之「拉意象Affordance」特徵屬性,形狀為「線帶狀」、「環狀」、「傘菇狀」;材質為「繩、紙、布」;手部與其操作部相對比例關係為「握拳操作(手掌寬度)」、操作部的可能移動方式為「具可移動轉軸(中間的狀態)」。
3.門把之「推、拉曖昧意象Affordance」特徵屬性,形狀為「網格狀」;材質為「玻璃」;手部與其操作部相對比例關係為「手指操作(點狀面積)」、操作部的可能移動方式為「可轉動軸承(圓形軌道)」
期望本研究之設計準則可以做為設計師控制門之「推」、「拉」操作的參考依據,解決「推、拉曖昧」的情形。
When entering or going out of a closed space, people take the actions of pushing and pulling a door. Such actions are common wrist movements in our ordinary life. However, people sometimes feel confused with the ambiguity between a door’s pushing and pulling in public space. Under the circumstances of emergency, a person’s intuition of operating a door even dominates the safety of his life. The purpose of my research is to explore the push-and-pull Affordance between an operator and an object, in terms of collecting ordinary objects which possess the functions of pushing and pulling. I intend to re-examine the design of a door on the aspect of its pushing and pulling functions in order to solve the problem of such push-and-pull ambiguity.
Based on the way of discussion, my research begins with the study of encyclopedia from which I collect and make one hundred and twenty-two samples. Then, into three groups I classify these samples, which possess the properties of pushing and pulling Affordance: they are pushing group, pulling group, and group of push-and-pull ambiguity. After the classification, I interview people who participate in my research and collect their opinions of these three groups. Finally, by means of Quanptification I, I try to find the Affordance of pushing imagery, pulling imagery, and ambiguous imagery between the actions of pushing and pulling. And then highest Score of Categories would be solitarily added on a door for the operation.
The research points out the following facts:
1.the properties of an object about affordance of pushing imagery , which are「plane surface」;the part of contact in proportion to「be smaller than palm of the hand」;the situation of the preceding actionable part is「the moving front contents」;and it is not affected by materials.
2.the properties of an object about affordance of pulling imagery , which are「the form of line」、「the form of ring」、「the form of mushroom」;the materials are「rope」、「paper」、「cotton」;the part of contact in proportion is「handful area」;the situation of the preceding actionable part is「the middle situation in revolved」.
3.the properties of an object about affordance ofmbiguous imagery between the actions of pushing and pulling , which are「the form of network」;the material is「glass」;the part of contact in proportion is「a drop of a finger」;the situation of the preceding actionable part is「the move of circular track 」.
My intention is to provide a designer with a reference of a door’s push-and-pull function in order to solve the problem involved with the push-and-pull ambiguity.
