  • 本論文從電腦輔助設計/製造與數位製造的方法,探討衍生式皮層設計的發展。從設計到實作的過程中,透過參數模型變量與連結的特性,以及電腦數值控制設計回饋機制,展開數位製造在建築領域的實驗操作。

    本研究以衍生式皮層作為運算設計的基本類型,嘗試藉由控制設計衍生規則與初始狀態條件等方式,提供建築在表皮與空間的原型系統。設計操作類型建構在幾何組構和仿生機制上,提供設計者在單一步驟下的操作流程與腳本,進而探討建築表皮、空間與形體間的多變及多樣性。從數位製造的操作、回饋到實作模型,設計過程提供參數化建模與數位製造的操作策略,足以建構一套參數式設計與數位製造的實驗流程。

    研究與設計操作的結果,以一比一全尺寸模型在實際空間中展示。數位製造從參數建模到製造,提供異質多樣的設計結果,不僅數位製造讓設計邁向邏輯化的思考方式,設計與製造的轉譯過程中,更讓建築形式與數位化過程之間取得新的連結關係,進而提供數位建築領域更精確且更接近真實的新一代設計工具。

    The objective of this research is to develop generative surface design through experimentation in the realm of digital fabrication and parametric design. This thesis explored methods of digital fabrication by changing and linking parametric model’s variables, providing feedback mechanisms from design to construction.

    This research used buildings’ generative surfaces as the basic type of design. A set of parametric design prototypes were produced by means of generative algorithms. For some geometry fabric and biomimetic designs, the versatility and variety of generative surface, space and forms are explored, providing designers the operating process and scripts under one step. Using CNC for digital fabrication, the design process has been facilitated by integrating parametric modeling, digital fabrication, and feedback to the production of design models.

    The result of experimentation is the construction of a full-scale free-form surface installed in the corridor. The experimentation shows that computer aided design/ manufacturing has provided heterogeneous and various design alternatives from parameter modeling to fabrication. Parametric design not only provides a way of logical thinking, but also in the processing of making, develop a new linking between constructing forms and digital process. The new CAD/ CAM tools make the design process more accurate, managable, and easy to explore design alternatives.
