本論文創新之處在於利用Android智慧型手機結合Microsoft推出的Kinect裝置與藍牙耳機裝置,製作一個盲人輔具系統,目前沒有類似使用手機結合此類裝置的研究。為了減少盲人使用觸控螢幕的不便,本系統採用藍牙耳機的多媒體按鍵進行各項控制,並藉由Kinect可取得深度三維空間影像回傳給手機,在手機端即時運算辨識出障礙物或坑洞,並透過語音告知盲人障礙物的類型、方向與與步伐距離,讓盲人可以依據這些資訊,提早做出轉向或折返的準備。
This thesis proposed an original research which is a smartphone-based blind aid System that combines an Android smartphone with a Kinect. No similar approach that uses the same configurations has been reported in literature. Our proposed system passes the three-dimensional depth images obtained by a Kinect to an Android phone. After that, the system identifies obstacles or potholes by analyzing the depth images so that the blind will be informed immediately about the detected obstacle type, direction and distance by voice. Based on this information, a blind person can make early decision on changing one’s direction. By using the proposed system, blind people can save a lot of time to detour or to explore road conditions.
