  • 本論文回應當今世界環境永續議題與科技發展的兩難,並以推測設計思考模式發展作品〈After-Anthropocene〉,提出一種人類可能面臨之未來。在假設的未來,人類活動從地球來到外太空,但一種自主化的自然修復系統仍持續在地球運轉。在作品所展現的推測性且具美學性的未來想像中,引發觀者對於此困境的反思。
    本作品包含實體裝置與視覺創作兩部分,同時也具備自主系統與互動機制,型塑為一種具備公眾參與性質的劇場體驗以展現類似於末日的場景。當機器積極執行地球綠化的任務時,觀眾會發現此任務的成效極為渺小甚至徒勞無功。然而身處於星球外部的人類卻期盼著一個重生的生態系統。透過本作品,我們這些仍然生活在「人類世」中的人所面臨的問題如下:在技術進步和環境可持續性之間的複雜關係中,我們人類是否仍然處於主導地位,還是應該為「後人類世」重新定位我們的立場?

    This paper addresses the dilemma between environmental sustainability and technological development in the recent age. This work, “After-Anthropocene”, follows speculative design thinking to explore a future that human beings may face. In this speculative future, humans have emigrated to outer space while an autonomous nature restoration system is still running around the Earth. In this speculative and aesthetic experience, this work is expected to arouse audiences’ reflection on this dilemma.
    This installation includes physical and visual parts, as well as autonomous and interactive mechanisms, forming a theatre with public participation and showcasing an Apocalypto-like scene. When actively driving the machine to plant on the Earth, the outcome in audiences’ experiences is tiny and almost futile. Still, standing in the outer space, we wish the rebirth of Earth’s ecosystem. By this, the question for us still living in the Anthropocene stands as follows: Do we humans remain dominating in the complex relationship between technological progress and environmental sustainability, or should we relocate our position for the after-Anthropocene?
