在產品設計的過程中,設計者的創意想法得來不易。對特定產品的設計概念在設計該類型的產品時有可能繼續被使用,甚至可以激發出新的創意。因此,如何保存和再利用已有的設計概念是一項值得探討的主題。
由於電腦科技的發展,電腦輔助設計軟體能更真實的表現產品的外形,產品設計圖也從紙張的方式變成電腦圖檔。本研究針對螺絲起子產品,將已有的產品設計概念參數化,並利用功能模型和結構變異法,配合市售的電腦輔助設計軟體所提供之客製化功能,建立設計概念具體化輔助系統。本輔助系統藉由連結產品資料庫與CAD軟體,使用者設計新的產品時,先建立產品的外型,接著依需求的功能建構設計概念,並指定此設計概念於產品外型上之連結位置,即在該選定位置生成此設計概念的具體構造,此構造可作為細部設計的依據。本系統亦可從資料庫呼叫已儲存的產品設計概念進行修改,也可將已完成的設計概念存入特定產品之資料庫。
The creation of design concepts is an irrational process during designing a product. Once the design concepts and their corresponding shapes for a specific product are generated, they can be repeatedly used to design similar product group. Thanks to the evolution of computer technology, CAD systems become more powerful to manipulate product model that includes sophisticated geometry and mechanism. This study developed a computer-aided concept concretization design system that is based on the method of structure variation together with function model and allows the user to create the geometric shapes of design concepts to meet the required functions of a specific product. The proposed prototype system employed SolidWorks API (application program interface) library and the programming techniques of VB to create user interfaces for generating design concepts within a Microsoft Object Linking and Embedding (OLE) environment. The parametric design concepts can then be stored in and retrieved from a database. The case study of manually-operated screwdrivers has demonstrated that the proposed system is capable of generating various design concepts to meet the product requirements.
