Mangrove is vegetated in the coastal area and can serve as a coastal wave barrier. Stand density of mangrove is a crucial factor that breaks the waves and reduces the wave height significantly. In this study, 20 mangrove survey plots were surveyed using Terrestrial Laser Scanner (TLS). The produced point cloud data had been cropped to the interest area and segmented to count the tree number. The average height of the survey plot was calculated using Canopy Height Model (CHM) with a resolution of 10 cm generated over the point cloud data. In addition, reference tree number on all survey plots were acquired via in-situ measurement. The result of the counted tree from point cloud data was showed correct number of stand density compared with the reference data. The produced F1 score of ground truth validation was ranging from 0.64 to 1.00 with median value of about 0.92. Finally, exponential regression models were calculated on the results of stand density and plot average tree height data. The correlation showed a negative correlation. Mangrove survey plots with low tree height tend to have a higher number of tree density than the survey plot with high tree height.
