本論文主要是探討單一矽烷(N,N-dimethyl-N-octadecyl-3- amonopropyltrimethoxysilyl chloride,簡稱DMOAP)於不同比例的去離子水和異丙醇混合之溶劑系統,對於不具有或具有聚亞醯胺膜的ITO玻璃表面之預傾角調變影響之研究,實驗結果顯示在不具有聚亞醯胺膜的ITO玻璃下,DMOAP在適當的體積下可以達到較易操作的預傾角調變條件,同時,在具有聚亞醯胺膜(PI膜)的ITO玻璃所達到的預傾角具有更穩定的特性且配向效果不會隨時間改變。
In this thesis, we demonstrate a method of adjustable pretilt angle for liquid crystal alignment with dipping solution coating on glass substrates. The solution is blended with one silane DMOAP (N,N-dimethyl-N-octadecyl-3- aminopropyltrimethoxysilyl chloride) and various ratio solvents of isoptopyl alcohol (IPA) and deionized water (DI water). We also compare the characteristics of liquid crystal alignment for glass substrates with or without polyimide coating. From our experimental results, it shows that DMOAP with a suitable volume will be benefits for process window, i.e., pretilt angles versus variations of solvent ratio will be more smoothly. Simultaneously, the stability of liquid crystal alignment for substrates with polyimide coating are better than them without polyimide coating.
