台灣傳統穿鬬式架扇的隔間材料中,以實木板作為隔間者稱「木堵板壁」,此構造經常作為架扇隔間牆,但國內相關傳統木造壁體的研究甚少,因此本文針對台灣雲嘉南地區穿鬪式架扇間的木造壁體進行調查,並探討其組構程序,一方面可建立台灣傳統建築木造壁體構法之基礎資料,另外也可作為日後古蹟或歷史建築修復木造壁體時之參考。
首先透過文獻分析,發現雲嘉南地區仍保存有相當數量的穿鬪式建築,因此先針對此範圍之民宅進行現況調查,共45處案例,並記錄木堵板壁分佈狀況、構造特徵、接點模式及各項尺寸等,同時透過匠師訪談及現場施作紀錄,了解木堵板壁及各構件的名稱、工法及組構程序等。
現況調查後發現,施作於架扇間的木堵板壁主要由板材及邊框所構成,由於受到材料及壁體範圍影響,每壁體的單元必須由數片單板組成,並以竹釘將其固定,且壁體的範圍越大,所需拼版的數量越多。木堵板壁的框架系統,包含水平及垂直向的邊框,各邊框在搭接板材前,需在與壁體接觸面施作溝槽,方能穩固木堵板壁。木堵板壁的組構程序,經過匠師訪談與現場施作後其程序可分為幾項原則:1.組立過程必須以「由下至上」、「由裡至外」的原則進行。2.板材、邊框、大木構件等之加工必須於組立架扇前完成。3.基本上整體構架的施作主要以中柱為基準,逐漸向兩側完成壁體組立。4.壁體若為編泥牆,則是待架扇及木堵板壁組裝完成後再進行施作。本文對於木堵板壁的構造研究,僅針對雲嘉南地區進行調查研究,日後可增加案例數量或擴大研究範圍,檢視各地方木堵板壁之作法,因此有關台灣傳統鬬式架扇木造壁體的課題仍可再作進一步的研究,以釐清各地方在施作、工法及構造上的差異。
In the traditional Taiwanese Chuan-Dou timber frames, “wooden shear wall” is a popular stuff made of timber plates. Now the studies about traditional wooden walls are rare. The aim of this thesis is to conduct an investigation upon the construction and the procedure of erection of wooden walls within Chuan-Dou timber frames of Yunlin, Chiayi and Tainan areas. The results will be not only databases of wooden walls in traditional buildings but also a reference to renovation.
According to references, a lot of Chuan-Dou timber buildings have been existing in Yunlin, Chiayi and Tainan areas. An investigation upon 45 residences in these areas will be carried out. This investigation consists of the distribution, characteristics of construction, joint types and the dimension of each case. The interview with craftsmen and the record about in-site erection will help understand the denomination, construction and the procedure of erection.
According to the investigation, wooden shear walls are mainly composed of plates and frames. Because of the material and the dimension of walls, each unit of the walls contains several pieces of single plates and these single plates are connected with bamboo nails. The larger the wall is, the more single plates are needed. Frame systems with wooden shear walls include horizontal and vertical frames. Before connecting the frames with plates, it is necessary to chisel a cannelure on the interface of walls to fix wooden shear walls. In accordance with the interviews with craftsmen and the in-site construction, the procedure of wooden shear walls consists several principles as bellow:
1 The erection is based on the principles of “upward-from-fundamental” and “outward-from-inside.”
2 The manufacture of plates, frames and timber elements must be accomplished before the erection of frames.
3 The erection of the entire frames is mainly based upon the middle columns(中柱?) and then developed bilaterally.
4 If the stuff of the walls is the wattle and daub wall, the composition of that is after the erection of the whole frames and wooden shear walls.
The constructional study about wooden shear walls of this study is focused on cases of Yunlin, Chiayi and Tainan areas. It needs to enlarge the amount and extent of the investigation to determine the constructional method of wooden shear walls of other places. A further study about traditional Taiwanese Chuan-Dou timber frames is necessary to confirm the variety about the construction of each location.
