本研究旨在探討不同類型之服務學習課程與公民參與的關係。本研究目的有四:(1)了解大學生參與不同類型之服務學習課程與公民參與之關聯性。(2)探討服務學習課程參與類型及動機與大學生公民參與之關聯性。(3)探究服務學習核心特質與大學生公民參與之關聯性。(4)了解大學生參與不同類型之服務學習課程與公民參與之關聯性是否存在性別差異。本研究係使用成功大學董旭英教授與台南科技大學張同廟教授所建置之次級資料庫,其以台灣地區之大學生為研究對象,採分層隨機抽樣,抽取四十一所學校共1,113名大學生,將所得資料以描述統計、皮爾森積差相關及多元迴歸分析之巢式迴歸模型技術等統計方法進行資料處理及分析。
本研究結果顯示:(1)學校社團及校內選修類型之動機,皆與班級參與、學校參與、社會參與及公民參與呈正相關;校內必修類型之動機,僅與學校參與無相關性,其餘構面皆呈正相關;其他類型之動機,僅與社會參與無相關性,其餘構面皆呈正相關;(2)服務學習核心特質─反思及自我肯定,皆與公民參與四構面呈正相關;(3)納入反思及自我肯定之變項後,學校社團類型之動機與班級參與、社會參與之關聯性消失,其餘構面之關聯性不變;校內必修類型之動機皆與公民參與四構面之關聯性不變;校內選修類型之動機與班級參與、學校參與、社會參與之關聯性消失,而與公民參與之關聯性不變;其他類型之動機與班級參與、公民參與之關聯性消失,其餘構面之關聯性不變(4)納入控制變項性別後,各自變項與公民參與四構面之關聯性不變。最後,據此實證結果,本研究對服務學習、公民教育及未來研究發展提供相關建議,以茲參考。
The present study was to investigate the relationship between participation in different types of service-learning and citizen participation. The objective of this study was to:(a) understand the current situation of the university students’ participation in different types of service-learning and citizen participation;(b) ascertain the relationships among different types of service-learning, motivation and citizen participation of university students;(c) discuss the relationships between the core characteristics of service-learning and citizen participation of university students;(d) comprehend after controlling the impact of gender, the relationships between participation in different types of service-learning and citizen participation. In this study, using the National Cheng Kung University Professor Tung Yuk-Ying and Tainan University of Technology Professor Chang Tung-miao by the secondary database. The participants were 1,113 university students from forty-one schools in Taiwan. In this study, statistical analysis included descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and nested regression model analysis.
The major findings were summarized as follows:(a) the motivations of participate in school associations and elective subject service-learning were significantly related to class participation, school participation, social participation and citizen participation; the motivation of participate in compulsory subject was not significantly related to school participation, but related to the other dimensions of citizen participation; other type of participate in service-learning was not significantly related to social participation, but related to the other dimensions of citizen participation;(b) reflection and self-affirmation were significantly related to four dimensions of citizen participation;(c) when reflection and self-affirmation were included, the significant relationship of the motivations of participate in school associations among class participation and social participation were changed; the significant relationship of the motivations of participate in compulsory subject among four dimensions of citizen participation were not changed; the significant relationship of the motivations of participate in elective subject among class participation, school participation and social participation were changed; the significant relationship of other type of participate in service-learning among class participation and citizen participation were changed;(d) when control variable was included, the relationship between all independent variables and four dimensions of citizen participation was remain.
Finally, based on these results, this study also provides some suggestions on service-learning, civic education as well as future research.
