Research on traffic accidents indicated that human factors are an important factor in approximately 90% of road-traffic crashes. Particularly, driver behavior was a cause in the overwhelming majority of traffic crashes. Recently, Advanced Public Transportation System (APTS) was used to increase the safety of the public transportation and the freeway schedule bus service also installed the e-bus system to decline the driver accident and to increase the safety on driving. The aim of the study was to investigate the relationship of the personality traits, driver affection and stress, affection of the e-bus system, aberrant driver behavior and the responsible incident with the structural equation model.
The data resources came from two parts, one is the questionnaire; the other is the data from the digital tachograph. The results revealed that negative personality traits and negative affection of the e-bus system, have positive and significant influences on the aberrant driver behavior, while the driver affection and stress has no statistically significant influence on the aberrant driver behavior. Moreover, we also found that aberrant driver behavior has positive and significant influence on the responsible incident. Finally, the results were suggested considering the implications for freeway schedule bus service contained upgrating the trust of the e-bus system and driver re-education training for some drivers.
