隨著全球人口老化的影響，慢性病患及需長期用藥的人口逐年增加，提醒用藥的產品與相關研究也隨之增多。本研究希望能提出一個易於老人及一般使用者皆為適用的用藥提醒裝置，不需繁複操作設定，並可參照使用者行為模式及使用者當時的狀況，彈性的提醒用藥，希望能藉此改善使用者的用藥狀況，進而增進用藥上的安全。
在裝置的實現上透過讀取藥物處方籤，依此自動的將用藥時間排程，所以免除了繁複的分藥動作與用藥時間設定。另外藉由RFID標籤做藥袋辨識，及透過感測器來偵測藥袋狀態與使用者的行為動作，加以分析與推論，以提供“提醒吃藥”，“延後吃藥”及“忘記是否吃藥”的輔助功能去協助使用者完成用藥，尤其“忘記是否吃藥”這個輔助功能對老人更為重要。

With the growing population of the elderly people, the number of the chronic patients is increasing year by year. As a result, there are related researches and products concerned on how to remind people to take medicine. This study intends to provide a medication reminding device which has simple setup procedures. It is designed not only for the common people but also for the elderly people. Furthermore, the device has a feature that it can remind a user to take medicine flexibly based on the behavior and conditions of the user. Based on this characteristic, we hope to improve user’s health and drug safety.
The device can arrange medication schedule automatically because it reads the drug prescription, which eliminates the complexity of time setting for the medicine. In addition by identifying the prescription bags by RFID Tags, the device uses sensors to analyze and infer the user’s behavior to help the user, such as to remind the user to take medicine and to confirm if he/she had taken the medicine. This later feature is especially important for senior citizens.
