The advent of blockchain technology has significantly influenced medical data sharing, particularly with the sharing of Electronic Health Records (EHRs) controlled by health authorities. This study proposes a novel method for the private sharing of Personal Health Records (PHRs) between patients and health authorities, aiming to preserve patients' data ownership. A new system, FHIRTerminalNode, is introduced to facilitate this aim. FHIRTerminalNode leverages the Ethereum blockchain's smart contract functionality to provide a platform for sharing location and encryption information, thus facilitating the efficient exchange of medical health data. Additionally, FHIRTerminalNode incorporates a React interface that monitors smart contract activity and triggers off-chain Docker containers at both the patient's and health authority's ends in response to specific events. Within this system, a health authority or researcher can initiate a proposal to which patients can opt in. The system's efficiency is later evaluated through performance experiments. With its straightforward approach to data exchange, FHIRTerminalNode offers a fresh perspective on health data sharing within the medical domain.
