With globalization, it has become increasingly competitive for enterprises to develop new products. Some of the most pressing issues and problems for enterprises today include promoting effective communication between enterprises, enhancing competitiveness, and having a positive impact on the performance of new product development. New products are critically important for companies, and companies that cannot continue to develop effective new products will face operational difficulties. Collaborative commerce is the cooperation between enterprises using the Internet and information technology. Through the sharing of knowledge and resources, partners can benefit from closer cooperation in business activities such as developing new products, managing, allocating inventory, selling and manufacturing goods, reducing risks or costs, and enhancing the core competitiveness of the enterprise.
This research proposes a framework to explore the impact of collaborative commerce on the performance of new product development and the factors that drive collaborative commerce. There are four key factors that drive collaborative commerce: trust, communication, cooperation, and information sharing, while efficiency and effectiveness are regarded as the measures for new product development performance. Data analysis was conducted using structural equation modelling using 219 questionnaire responses provided by individuals involved in new product development across various industries. The results
of the study found that trust, cooperation, and information sharing have a significant positive impact on the adoption of collaborative commerce, and that collaborative commerce also has a significant positive impact on the performance of new product development.
