從Franko (1971)首度提出「合資企業中不穩定性之存在」這個議題以來，合資企業瓦解的動態過程和關鍵因素一直持續地被討論，但始終沒有一個明確的解答；一直到Habib and Mella-Barral (2007)運用幾何布朗運動模型，去解釋合資企業伙伴的學習行為與合資企業瓦解之關係為止，合資企業的不穩定性似乎出現了一個可能的答案。這篇文章主要依循Habib and Mella-Barral (2007)的概念，並結合數篇關於知識管理以及合資企業不穩定性的重要文章，建立了一個以知識管理去探討合資企業不穩定性的研究架構；同時建立了一個獨有的資料庫，以及一套將知識量化的處理程序；並進一步地1996到1997兩年的電子產業資料為Habib and Mella-Barral (2007)的理論模型首度提出實證結果。總的來說，這篇文章主要有三個貢獻如下：(1) 建立了一個以知識管理去討論合資企業不穩定性的架構，(2) 發展出用以探討知識管理與合資企業瓦解之動態性的有效方法，(3) 進一步釐清知識管理與合資企業不穩定性的動態關係之間的可能連結。

The instability of joint ventures has been discussing for a long time. Even though Franko had mentioned this issue in 1971, the dynamic character and the key factors of joint ventures termination are still unclear now, until Habib and Mella-Barral (2007) proposed a mathematical model about using Brownian motion to describe the relationship between inter-partner learning and joint ventures dissolution. This thesis follows Habib and Mella-Barral’s (2007) concept and combines several important papers about knowledge management and joint venture instability, to develop an integrated knowledge management framework for the discussion about joint venture instability, and also construct a unique database and measurement process for knowledge; additionally, it proposes the first empirical evidence for Habib and Mella-Barral’s (2007) theoretical model by using data in electronics industry during 1996 to 1997. This thesis contributes to three main ways: (1) using an integrated framework of knowledge management to discuss joint venture instability, (2) developing the methodology to discuss the dynamic situation of knowledge management and joint venture dissolution, and (3) improving the realization about the dynamic character of both knowledge management and joint venture instability.
