Despite the recent surge of studies about cross cultural Training (CCT)』s effectiveness, previous studies have failed to take into account a number of variables. A big gap do exist that some of the main CCT』s variables such as post-arrival and language training haven』t been studied their effects on expatriate』s adjustment, as well as the mediating role of adjustment in the relationship between sequent CCT and language training with job performance are still new research issues. This study aims to examine the correlation between sequent CCT, language training and adjustment as well as job performance of expatriates in Vietnam. The data was obtained from 114 employees and 30 supervisors from almost 10 different countries. All target respondents had participated in a CCT program and have had been staying in Vietnam for at least three months.
Consistent to the expectations, results of this study showed significant effects of sequent CCT and language training on expatriate』 s adjustment and job performance. The mediating role of adjustment was shown partially effect. The effects and implications of these findings, contribution and limitations as well as suggestion for further research are discussed in detail.
