本文以複雜空間的構成與變化作為基本概念，分析及探究不同複雜現象下的表徵性形狀與深層結構。期待能由複雜空間的生成機制，衍生出適合現代都市高密度發展之建築型態。

　　除了以九龍城寨 －巨大黯黑的立體迷宮，一例為研究的主軸外，還包括對一些社會性昆蟲居所（蟻窩、蜂巢的空間結構）、回教城市紋理及自然碎形有機型態進行分析，交互討論比較；試圖找出，隱藏於混沌之下的深層結構。觀察其：私人的居住單元 － 公共的動線系統 － 公共的開放空間三者間的關係，發現個別住居單元的內在關係與外部整體連結系統，其實有著循環更迭的關係。後續主要的分析內容將針對研究對象的構成基本單元、層次組織、相互聯繫關係是否有：一、虛實相生；二、分合更迭；三、網絡串連之結構性的構成機制存在。

　　以目前世界城市擴延的方向，高密度的垂直發展是未來的趨勢；而建築也不再侷限於單體各自的發展，而是串連群體，關係時而重疊交錯，時而分散獨立。盼能藉此研究，重新詮釋高密度居住空間中 － 實體/虛體、私密/公共、個體/群體之組構關係。

　This thesis is to propose a design method on dynamic and complex housing that suits the high-density development of modern cities. The analysis adopted on a few examples with the qualities of complex forms. Firstly, the spatial configuration of Kowloon Walled City in Hong Kong (a massive, darkness stereo labyrinth ), consequently the growing scheme of the complex gregarious space as well as social insects inhabitation (spatial structure of formicary and beehive/honeycomb)、urban texture of Islamic city and organic morphosis of natural fractal . It is deemed that there are underlying rule system which governs the complex phenomenon of the gregarious space. Observation is proceeded on private residential units, network of public articulating system and public open spaces. There is a character of circulation found in the interrelationship of clustered residential units, and between the clusters and the public. (1) Cogeneration of solid and void (2) Alternation of convergence and divergence (3) Reciprocation of part and whole.

　High density and vertical development is a future global trend. This trend does not restrain a particular building, and it could also be applied to a colony of complicit buildings. It is to redefine the characteristics of high-density housing – solid/void, private/public and individuality/unity.
