十八世紀法國洛可可藝術（Rococo）著名的藝術家法蘭索瓦．布雪（François Boucher,1703－1770），他於1765年成為皇家藝術學院院長，並獲得「國王的首席畫家」（premier peintre du roi）的稱號。他的藝術風格鮮明，輕快柔美的色調運用、性感潔白的女性身體、精緻優雅的裝飾性藝術，散發著華麗愉悅的感染力。
布雪是為才華充沛的藝術家，作品跨越神話、肖像、風俗和風景等多重領域，其中創作的田園畫（Pastoral Painting）在當時廣受歡迎，對田園畫的振興頗具貢獻。繪畫職涯除了在皇家學院教授，也是路易十五（Louis XV,1710－1774）的宮廷畫師，龐巴度夫人（Madame de Pompadour,1721－1764）是他的藝術贊助人，曾在掛毯廠與瓷器廠繪製圖稿原型；在歌劇院擔任服裝與佈景設計師，擁有豐富的創作經歷，並且留下許多優良作品。現藏於臺灣奇美博物館的畫作〈情書〉（The Love Letter）（典藏編號：0010977），就是經由布雪工作坊繪製的作品，畫面展現布雪獨有的田園風格，一群年輕人在戶外遊閒，像是身處在阿卡迪亞的理想田園之中，筆者將以此作品為起點對布雪田園畫進行研究。
本論文首先以藝術社會學研究法探討布雪田園畫的創作背景，了解當時的藝文趨向；其次透過歷史研究法梳理布雪生平經歷及個人田園風格的發展與形成；最後用圖像學研究法對〈情書〉及其它相關作品做圖像分析與詮釋。經由上述方法，了解布雪園畫的藝術風格與獨特價值，並藉以探析貴族藝文品味之體現。

François Boucher (1703–1770) was a prominent figure in 18th-century French Rococo art. His distinctive artistic style, characterized by light and delicate colors, elegant and refined decorative elements, and an overall sense of opulent charm, had a powerful and joyful appeal. Boucher's oeuvre spanned a wide range of subjects, including mythology, portraiture, genre scenes, and landscapes. Among these, his pastoral paintings were especially popular and played a significant role in revitalizing the genre. The Love Letter (Collection No. 0010977), currently housed in the Chi Mei Museum in Taiwan, was produced by Boucher’s workshop and showcases his unique pastoral style: a group of young people leisurely enjoying the outdoors, evoking the idyllic landscape of Arcadia. This thesis uses this work as a starting point to explore Boucher’s contributions to pastoral painting.
The study first employs the methodology of art sociology to investigate the cultural and artistic context of Boucher’s pastoral works, revealing the aesthetic tendencies of the time. It then uses historical research to trace Boucher’s life and the development of his personal pastoral style. Finally, through iconographic analysis, it examines The Love Letter and other related works to interpret their imagery and meaning. By integrating these approaches, the thesis aims to illuminate the artistic style and unique value of Boucher’s pastoral paintings, while offering insights into the aristocratic taste and cultural ideals of 18th-century France.
