Due to lightening issue, average of 2,500 people were death, 53% was happened at nighttime, with miss-reaction of drivers. Although Regulations of Road and Traffic Safety, which indicated head light color should be yellow or white. We still can see head light in various colors. Therefore, the aim of this article attempts to explorer how human visual cognition in set of color temperature.
This research involved an experiment for 4 color temperature and 2 car types and a questionnaires of self-evaluation. Eighteen drivers participated in the study. The analysis conducts relations of visual cognition, contrast visual cognition in matrix of color temperature-car types, through ANOVA and convariance analysis, in order to indicate appropriate color-light from car types.
Results shows visual cognition in C is the best and then D color temperature. In contrast visual cognition, A is the best and then C. In car types, V is better then O and C color temperature is the best in self-evaluation. To conclude, white color light is proper with best visual cognition and comfort, and orange color light is harsh to eyes.
